God's Salvation Plan in the Biblical Feast Days  - Pentecost (Feast of Weeks/Shavuot)

3.  Pentecost  (Feast of Weeks/Shavuot)  

The 50th day with the count starting on the Beginning of the Harvest (Wavesheaf Offering):

Tanakh ("Old Testament") -  

Israel celebrates the firstfruits of the wheat harvest and the high priest presents an offering of two baked loaves of leavened wheat bread to God.  Jews today also observe this day as the giving of the Law (the 10 Commandments from Mt. Sinai after Israel reached there having passed through the divided Red Sea) and when God entered a marriage-like covenant with His people, like the “birthday” of Israel/the Jewish nation.  Please note that Jews regard the long shofar blast on Pentecost/Shavuot when God descends upon Mount Sinai to give the Law, as the “First Trumpet” (and the “Last Trumpet” will be when Messiah comes):

Exodus 19:

16   So it came about on the third day, when it was morning, that there were thunder and lightning flashes and a thick cloud upon the mountain and a very loud trumpet sound, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled.

17   And Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain.

18   Now Mount Sinai was all in smoke because the LORD descended upon it in fire; and its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked violently.

19   When the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke and God answered him with thunder.

20   The LORD came down on Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain; and the LORD called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.    (NASB)  

B'rit Hadashah ("New Testament") - 

Before the Lord Jesus ascends back to heaven, He tells His disciples to remain in Jerusalem until they receive power when His father baptizes them with His holy spirit (Acts 1:4-8, 15; 2:1-4).  Ten days later, the 120 are gathered together on Pentecost/Shavuot when God pours forth His holy spirit upon them and writes His law into their hearts and minds, paralleling the giving of the Law on Mt. Sinai.  This is considered to be like the “birthday” of the ‘ekklesia’ (Strong’s # 1577) which is the called-out assembly or body of Christ. Please also see the article ‘The Bride of Christ’.



Starting on the day after the weekly Sabbath of the Feast of Unleavened Bread which is Sunday, the first day of the week, when the High Priest the Lord Jesus offers the wavesheaf offering, we count off 50 days to the holy day of Pentecost (Pentecost means 50). The count to Pentecost starting with this Sunday starts the count to 50 with 7 perfect Sabbaths of weeks (7 x 7 days where each group of 7 days starts with the first day of the week and ends with the seventh day, the weekly Sabbath) for 49 days, plus 1 day.  The day after the 7 x 7 = 49 days, which is the 50th day, is Pentecost and is also always a Sunday.  

The relationship between the Wavesheaf Offering and Pentecost

Pentecost is closely related to the Wavesheaf Offering day.  We can see this not only in the fact that the Wavesheaf Offering day is the 1st day of the count to Pentecost with the 50th day being Pentecost (they are the start and end of the count), but also when we realize that both require firstfruit offerings.  A first firstfruit offering of the crop (barley) was done on day #1 (Leviticus 23:10-11) which is the Wavesheaf day, and then a second firstfruit offering of the crop (wheat) is done on day #50 with two loaves of leavened bread (Leviticus 23:15-17) on Pentecost. 


This is the first firstfruit offering on Day #1 which is the Wavesheaf Offering:


Leviticus 23:

10    "Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: 'When you come into the land which I give to you, and reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest.

11    He shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted on your behalf; on the day after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it.    (NKJV)



This is the second firstfruit offering on Day #50 which is Pentecost:


Leviticus 23:

15    'And you shall count for yourselves from the day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering: seven Sabbaths shall be completed.

16    Count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath; then you shall offer a new grain offering to the LORD.

17    You shall bring from your dwellings two wave loaves of two-tenths of an ephah. They shall be of fine flour; they shall be baked with leaven. They are the firstfruits to the LORD.   

18    And you shall offer with the bread seven lambs of the first year, without blemish, one young bull, and two rams. They shall be as a burnt offering to the LORD, with their grain offering and their drink offerings, an offering made by fire for a sweet aroma to the LORD.

19    Then you shall sacrifice one kid of the goats as a sin offering, and two male lambs of the first year as a sacrifice of a peace offering.

20    The priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits as a wave offering before the LORD, with the two lambs. They shall be holy to the LORD for the priest.     (NKJV)



This relationship between Wavesheaf Offering day #1 and Pentecost day #50 as first and second firstfruit days with Pentecost being the second firstfruit and a high Sabbath is also seen when we realize that they both relate to the resurrections of the saints. After the barley wavesheaf offering of the resurrected Messiah who ascends to His father (and brings a crop of firstfruit barley saints as we read in the previous section, the remaining body of Christ (all of God’s people – Jew and Gentile) are represented as the firstfruits of Pentecost (wheat; Romans 8:23, James 1:18).  This firstfruits of Pentecost is really just a continuation of the theme of firstfruit select saints which began with the wavesheaf offering.  


This relationship between the firstfruits of the Wavesheaf day, day #1 and Pentecost, day #50 as well as the fact of and relationship between two major harvests symbolizing the two resurrections of Revelation, can be seen also because we find that Pentecost/the Feast of Weeks is also defined as a harvest feast that reaps firstfruits (even called the Day of Firstfruits) and is listed as a Spring harvest together with another harvest to come in the Fall, at the end of the year:


Exodus 23:

15   You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread (you shall eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded you, at the time appointed in the month of Abib, for in it you came out of Egypt; none shall appear before Me empty);

16   and the Feast of Harvest, the firstfruits of your labors which you have sown in the field; and the Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you have gathered in the fruit of your labors from the field.    (NKJV)


Exodus 34:

22    "And you shall observe the Feast of Weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the year's end.    (NKJV)


Numbers 28:

26    'Also on the day of the firstfruits, when you bring a new grain offering to the LORD at your Feast of Weeks, you shall have a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work.     (NKJV)



Note that this relationship between the Wavesheaf day and Pentecost can also clearly be seen by the other name Pentecost has: the Feast of Weeks.  The Wavesheaf day begins this count of weeks.  Therefore, in both the timing and the meaning regarding firstfruits, the Wavesheaf Offering, for all intents and purposes, can even be considered part of this Feast of Weeks.

The outpouring of God's holy spirit


On Pentecost, we see how when God pours forth His holy spirit on the disciples gathered together, this inaugurates or is the birth of the body of Christ:


Acts 2:

1     When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2     And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.

3     Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.

4     And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.   (NKJV)



The giving of His holy spirit to believers is is when He writes His law into our hearts and minds: 


Hebrews 10:

15    But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before,

16    "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,"

17    then He adds, "Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more."    (NKJV)



This is from Jeremiah 31:


Jeremiah 31:

33   But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

34   No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more."    (NKJV)



The giving of the holy spirit of God which writes the Law of God into our hearts and minds is when the spirit of God and Christ comes to dwell within us, to turn us away from the flesh and make us spiritual and subject to the Law of God.  And if we are not spiritually minded and subject to the Law of God, then we are do not belong to Christ:


Romans 8:

5    For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

6    For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace,

7    because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God,

        for it is not even able to do so,

8    and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

9    However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.

10   If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.

11   But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.     (NASB)



The holy spirit of God is the deposit that dwells within the entire body of Christ to prepare us for our redemption:


2 Corinthians 1:

21   Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God,

22    who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.    (NKJV)


Ephesians 1:

11   In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

12   That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

13    In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

14    Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.   (KJV)

The giving of the holy spirit of God to everyone in the body of Messiah begins on that Pentecost in Acts 2, and we are told how those who have faith in the Son of God and Messiah who died for our sins and was raised can receive God’s holy spirit.  Believers must repent of their sinful behavior by not sinning anymore and must walk righteously, and they must be baptized in the name of Messiah:

Acts 2:

37   Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Men and brethren, what shall we do?"

38   Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

39   For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call."    (NKJV)


So in essence, Pentecost/Shavuot is the holy feast day that symbolizes how God selects and prepares those who are His by sealing them with His holy spirit.  These are the ones who will live even if they die and will one day be in His kingdom forever and forever.  Within the pattern of the ancient Hebrew wedding which Christ is literally living out in God’s holy days, the baptism of the holy spirit of all believers since Acts 2 until His return is the ritual immersion (‘mikveh’ or ‘mikvah’ – baptism) the bride does before the wedding as a sign of change in status and purity. These are the ones chosen to be the bride of Christ. 

Or stated another way, Pentecost, with its outpouring of God’s holy spirit upon everyone – Jew and Gentile alike, is the official beginning of the Kingdom of God with those who are the chosen bride of Christ who have consecrated themselves to their bridegroom by the spirit and power of God.

The saints represented in the Acts 2 Pentecost are the firstfruit new grain offering of two baked loaves of leaven bread that occurs on this day (Leviticus 23:16-17, 20) with the loaves representing the bride of Christ.

Why are the loaves of bread baked with leaven for the Pentecost offering when everywhere else in Scripture any offering of bread must be unleavened? 

This is because in the Bible when leaven is used as a noun it represents sin.  However, when it is used as a verb describing how something rapidly expands it does not mean sin.  For example, the Lord Jesus uses a parable to describe the Kingdom of God saying it is “like” leaven:

Matthew 13:

33   Another parable He spoke to them: "The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal till it was all leavened."    (NKJV)

Of course the Kingdom of God is not leaven or sin.  The kingdom is likened to leaven only because of how rapidly and greatly it expands.  We know this, because the two verses immediately before saying the Kingdom of God is like leaven, He describes the kingdom as like a mustard seed:

Matthew 13:

31   Another parable He put forth to them, saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field,

32   which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches."    (NKJV)

We see this rapid and majestic growth of the Kingdom of God in King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream which parallels these parables describing the expanding action of leaven.  Indeed, Nebuchadnezzar’s dream is like a parable unto itself:

Daniel 2:

34       You watched while a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image on its feet of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces.

35       Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were crushed together, and became like chaff from the summer threshing floors; the wind carried them away so that no trace of them was found. And the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.   (NKJV)


What grows into a great mountain that fills the entire earth is the Kingdom of God:

Daniel 2:

44   And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

45   Inasmuch as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold --- the great God has made known to the king what will come to pass after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation is sure."    (NKJV)

The Kingdom of God will be established physically at His return in glory, but the work to build it began with Him preaching of it:

Mark 12:

12   Immediately the Spirit *impelled Him to go out into the wilderness.

13   And He was in the wilderness forty days being tempted by Satan; and He was with the wild beasts, and the angels were ministering to Him.

14   Now after John had been taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God,

15   and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel."    (NASB)

And we as disciples must do the same until the end, until He returns:

Matthew 24:

14   "This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.    (NASB)

The reason why building the kingdom began when He started His ministry is because the kingdom consists of people and they must be taught about the kingdom before they can enter it.  It is at that Pentecost 50 days after His resurrection when the spirit is now given to all in earnest (after we repent and are baptized in Messiah’s name as Peter said in Acts 2:38) to enter the kingdom.  It is a rapid and great growth which began then:

Acts 2:

41   So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls.    (NASB)

The people who enter the kingdom need to have the spirit of God write the law of God in their hearts and minds so they will not sin against God; they must be cleansed from sin:

1 John 3:

4   Whoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

5    And you know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

6    Whoever stays in him sins not: whoever sins has not seen him, neither known him.   (AKJV)

1 Corinthians 6:

9    Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,

10   nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.

11   Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.    (NASB)

The two loaves represent the Kingdom of God and how rapidly and awesome the growth is.  It grows like the mustard seed to the huge tree.  It grows like the stone cut out without hands into an awesome mountain that covers the whole earth. 

We see this even more clearly when we look at what Paul says in Romans 11.  We are told that if the lump of dough is holy then the firstfruit from the dough is also holy:

Romans 11:

16   If the first piece of dough is holy, the lump is also; and if the root is holy, the branches are too.

17   But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them and became partaker with them of the rich root of the olive tree,

18   do not be arrogant toward the branches; but if you are arrogant, remember that it is not you who supports the root, but the root supports you.   (AKJV)

We find once again that the two loaves of leavened bread do not mean they represent sin or are sinful in any way at all, but the piece of dough is holy just like the lump of dough from which it comes is holy.  Therefore, the two loaves of leavened bread is a holy firstfruit offering. 

It also tells us that since the root of the olive tree is holy, therefore its branches are holy.  And we are told there are two types of holy branches – native and wild / Jew and non-Jew, mentioned together with the firstfruit of dough. 

So the two loaves of leavened bread are Jews (native olive branches) and non-Jews (wild olive branches) symbolizing one Israel, the holy firstfruit of the Kingdom of God which grows swiftly and powerfully to one day encompass the whole world when Messiah returns.

Time to prepare the bride/saints

Pentecost is the bridge that connects what has happened in the Spring feast days with what is yet to happen in the Fall feast days when Messiah returns to establish the kingdom of God.  The Almighty has purposely left the redemption of the firstfruit saints who were sealed in Acts 2 as unfinished business that will be continued in the end times Fall season.  It is like a timer/clock that has temporarily stopped and this prophetic clock will start again at the time of the restoration of all things.  However, the time does not literally stop; all this time – 2,000 years, is to grow and build up the kingdom and bring in the harvest which is the bride.  All this time: past and present, old and new, bridging the 2000-year gap from Acts 2 until the return of Christ for His bride is to allow for the selection/growth of the harvest, the body of Christ – the Kingdom of God.  It is to allow also for the preparation of His bride to be spotless and occupying the time until He returns.

The Spring feasts consist of the selection of the bride, and the preparation of the marriage covenant and the bride, which includes the groom going away for some time to prepare a home for His bride:

John 14:

2    "In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.

3    "If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.     (NASB)

When He goes and does this, He leaves behind a gift for His bride as a sign that she is His and she must remain unblemished as she waits for Him.  This gift, almost like an engagement ring in Western terms (though a betrothal is much more than an engagement), is the holy spirit of God.  It not only brings to the bride’s remembrance the things about her groom and how she must remain chaste and righteous, but it also empowers the body of Messiah to have the wisdom and understanding of God to know the Scriptures; be empowered to imitate Christ and walk as He walked, following His perfect footsteps; and for each member of the body to be empowered to do works for the glory and in the service of God: 


1 Corinthians 12:

3    Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.

4    There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

5    There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord.

6    And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.

7    But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:

8    for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,

9    to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit,

10   to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.

11   But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

Unity and Diversity in One Body

12   For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.

13   For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body --- whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free --- and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.

14   For in fact the body is not one member but many.

15   If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body," is it therefore not of the body?

16   And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body," is it therefore not of the body?

17   If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling?

18   But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased.

19   And if they were all one member, where would the body be?

20   But now indeed there are many members, yet one body.

21   And the eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you"; nor again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you."

22   No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary.

23   And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty,

24   but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it,

25   that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.

26   And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

27   Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.

28   And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.

29   Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles?

30   Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?    (NKJV)

The holy spirit of God is what seals the bride and marriage covenant.  In the Old Testament, the covenant is sealed with Israel by the giving of the 10 Commandments upon Mount Sinai on Pentecost/Shavuot.  In the New Testament, the covenant is sealed with Israel by the giving of the holy spirit of God which writes the law of God into our minds and hearts.  

With the giving of God's holy spirit, God enters a new covenant with all His people and God now writes the Law on the hearts of believers (Hebrews 8:8-12; 10:12-17 from Jeremiah 31:33-34).  This applies to the Jew first as all things come through Israel and we see this when we know and recall that all of the first believers in Christ were Jews.  This giving of the spirit is given to all, both Jews and Gentiles, and all are now considered one people with the same God and same Messiah. 


The holy spirit God gives to dwell within us empowers us to know and do His will and be changed into the image of Christ.  In short, God gives the body and bride of Christ His holy spirit now only as a down payment which will one day be fully redeemed when we are raised in our new spirit bodies (2 Corinthians 1:21-22; 5:1-5) and:

Ephesians 1:

13   In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

14   who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.     (NKJV)

We must recall that Pentecost/Shavuot is both the “birth” of the nation of Israel in the Old Testament and the “birth” of the ekklesia”, the assembly of Jews and Gentiles called out into the body of Christ, in the New Testament.  The awesome truth is that the “ekklesia”/body of Christ IS Israel – comprised of both Jew and Gentile, but with Israel first and foremost as the native branch and the Gentiles grafted in as the wild branch (as we saw earlier in Romans 11). 

Pentecost entails the preparing and sealing of the people of God so they will be ready for the groom to return for His bride.  The holy spirit of God given to His people changes us to be holy.  As the 1st and 50th days, Pentecost also continues what started with the barley firstfruit wavesheaf offering of the Messiah on the Wavesheaf day.

Closing note

It is a perfect summation of the Spring feast days, and it is all about holiness. 


In the groom, the price He pays for His bride is His life.  In the groom, we have a holy sacrifice whose precious blood cleanses us of our sins; His righteousness becomes our righteousness (Passover).  


We are to live as He has lived, imitating Him, and must be holy --- unleavened and without sin, as He was unleavened and without sin (Feast of Unleavened Bread). 

His death and resurrection is the very first of all to follow, showing everyone who loves Him what awaits in eternity when He comes back for His bride. The groom is also the High Priest and He is the firstfruit of all firstfruits who prepares the way for everyone else --- the first thing He does as High Priest is to present Himself before God as the Abib barley firstfruit wavesheaf offering, as well as a select few barley saints.   

In addition to His blood which initiates the marriage covenant, the spirit of God is a gift to us to further seal the marriage covenant.  While the groom leaves for a while to prepare a place for us, this gift from Him changes us from within and keeps us faithful and spotless/holy (Pentecost). Excitedly counting to the 50th day which is Pentecost is a continuation of the Biblically-commanded theme of being holy and without sin in acknowledgment of what Christ has done for us by His sacrifice as the Lamb of God on Passover.  This 50-day count and Pentecost is a microcosm and small reminder of how we, as the bride of Christ, ought to always be: being a spotless (without sin) bride who anxiously awaits for the return of the groom.  


In the Spring feast days, the holy groom is betrothed to a holy bride and then He goes away for a time to prepare their home, and returns to take His bride to Himself for the wedding – chosen/prepared earlier but harvested in the midst of the end times.

In the Fall feast days, there is the Second Coming of Christ as the Lord Jesus appears for the first time since His departure almost 2000 years ago, and it will be very visible and audible, as the groom returns for His bride – who are those that are part of the 1st resurrection of Revelation 20:4-6, so they can share their lives together forever.



Pentecost is closely related to the Wavesheaf Offering day which immediately comes before it and also the Feast of Trumpets, the next feast day, and should be read together with them in sequence.
